So with the very soon arrival of Little Bean (don’t know boy or girl) somewhere end of February, we are getting ready. This is going to be one of the 50 memorable experiences to happen and when it does, there will be 49 to list on Dec 31st, 2012.
Yesterday I was listening to Ishaan’s children’s CD and the last song was Richard Van Camp’s words in “Welcome Song for Baby: A lullaby for newborns.” Richard Van Camp is a local First Nations song writer and poet…his words are simple but powerful. While the book is for newborns and to keep to share, reading the words also applies to us and a reminder of who we are. I recommend purchasing the book but I did want to provide some excerpts as the messages are very important:
“Hey ya hey, Hey ya hey, Hey ya hey…Dear one, Cherished one, Loved one, You have made the world beautiful again.”
“The sun rises for you, The earth welcomes you, We raise our hands to you, You have made the world beautiful again.”
“You are sacred, You are precious, You are our future, You are our sacred responsibility.”
“You are a child of the universe, A caretaker for future generations, Walk gently, Walk true.”
“Share your gifts with the world, Share your dreams with the world, Share your light with the world, Share your love of the world.”
“And for someone so small, You are about to change our lives, For someone so small, You are about to change our world, for someone so small, You are about to change the universe forever.”
“Hey ya hey, Hey ya hey, Hey ya hey, Ho!
While listening and reading these excerpts, they are for Little Bean…however, I share it with you as well. The words have powerful meaning and it is a reminder of what we were put on this earth to do…that we have purpose and meaning…we have a responsibility to make a difference in this world. My words to you based on his writing…you are NOT insignificant. You are exactly what needs to be here. I am thankful for his writing and for you. Please don’t ever forget that.
