Did I say thank you?!

Sam’s 50/50-2012 would not have been possible without the support of my wife Sadhna. She understood the importance of what I wanted to do and let me go about doing what I wanted to do for this adventure. While it has been Sam’s journey, she has been along side.

For example, I wanted to go on my China/Singapore adventure. Normally, I would not have gone abroad like this had it not been for me turning 50 years old this year. She did not want to hold me back and wound up looking after our two little guys. I know it was inconvenient for her but she supported me.

With my work being flexible where I have to work evenings and weekends, having to travel for work, going to many evening work events, she does understand the commitments I have to make. She also understands my passion and dedication to my students/alumni and enjoys in their company as well. I think it was fitting at the Diamond Jubilee ceremony where the MP Andrew Saxton said that our family sacrifice as we sacrifice and that was well said.

So Sadhna, the 50/50-2012 is coming to a close and as this happens, many of the posts are a result of you being supportive. Thank you!

Congratulations Sam for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal! I just saw the news and was surprised because it was not long ago when I saw your “Mentor of the Year” award!
    Happy New Year!
