Reel Leadership – Movies about Leadership

As I was thumbing through a leadership book: A Very Short, Fairly Interesting and Reasonably Cheap Book About Leadership, it provided 24 movies about leadership worth watching…I think I have my work cut out for me. If I had to think of my life as a movie right now, it might be Bucket List (but without the reason why they pursued the bucket list – I plan on sticking around for a long time)

If you think about it, there is a lot of leadership displayed in many movies. It could be an event, epic triumphs, or just a personal journey. I think if you think hard enough, almost any movie can have leadership implications. I also think one of my favorite Youtube videos on leadership has to be – dance of the shirtless guy – it has a narration that is spot on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW8amMCVAJQ

Ah yes, Dance of the Shirtless Guy. We used that video during FROSH training this year. Quite a powerful message from such a seemingly silly video.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you are finding the weblog helpful. Unfortunately, I am not too technology savy but it is all based on WordPress. I could not tell you much more as the person who built this made it so it would be for me to do easy additions.

Thank you for your kind words. It is a year long journey and it is for two purposes. One to self reflect on the important things in life and second, to have people start building their own stories and discovering the extraordinary in the ordinary. Your comment did make my day today so thank you for that ;-)

  6. Sam

Really appreciate your comments. I feel anything you do with passion just seems to feel right. We are all writing an autobiography…but we have to make it worth reading. I am having a great time discovering the extraordinary in the ordinary.

  7. Sam

Thank you. I never thought I would be blogging but here I am. I think it is the journey of turning 50 and wanting to have memorable experiences rather than one incident to think about. Your comments are appreciated.

  8. Sam

Glad to hear it! I think this has to be one of my memorable moments. Sharing something that I am really enjoying and hearing from people who appreciate it. Thank you for your feedback.

Wow, thank you for this. Sometimes we think that we are writing but who is listening. I learn from not only the daily things around me but comments like this become my inspiration…thank you, it means a lot.

Glad I can help. I do a lot of public speaking and the easiest thing is to pick a topic you are passionate about and tell it like a story. Good luck on that. Please let me know how it goes.

  11. Sam

Thank you. I have many stories to share and it means a lot to hear that people are enjoying it. Keep in mind, it is also about discovering your own stories and if you find that you are able to, then I am really pleased that it has helped.

I appreciate your comments. I will pass that along to the person who created it. He was mentioned in my very first post and I have dedicated the site to him.

Thank you for your kind words. It really is appreciated No paid subject here. This is me and my perceptions and sharing it to the world. My motivation is to blog about my reflections but more importantly, to share my stories so others will go out and write their own autobiography. I never thought that I would be doing this but I am enjoying the experience. Comments like yours make it worth while…thanks again.

Thank you for your comment. The person who created the blog is not professional. He was someone who wanted to help me get my message out and learned how to do it. As for me, I am not a professional blogger. I believe that if you have passion for the things in life and a purpose to get the message out, you will find the content because it is written with heart and soul.

Hi there, before Jan 1, 2012, I had never blogged. I have someone who learned how to create a template for this, then had someone clean it up and handed it over to me so I can put the posts in an easy format. I appreciate your comments. I think the best lesson learned for me is to make sure you are passionate about what you are thinking and wanting to share and then it comes easier. I have been enjoying the experience.

  19. I am extremely impressed together with your writing talents as smartly as with the structure for your blog. Is this a paid topic or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to peer a great blog like this one these days..

I appreciate your kind words. This was just a passion that started at the beginning of the year and I wanted to share my stories in the hopes that others would write their own stories. I am having a great time writing these posts.
